The Value of You<\/h2>\n

I love this story, because it reminds me not to compare myself with others, but to value myself by my own standard. \u00a0So, what’s your value?<\/p>\n

A popular speaker started off a seminar by holding up a $20 note. A crowd of 200 had gathered to hear him speak. He asked, \u201cWho would like this $20?\u201d<\/p>\n

200 hands went up.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cI am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this.\u201d He crumpled the money up into a wad.<\/p>\n

He then asked, \u201cWho still wants it?\u201d<\/p>\n

All 200 hands were still raised.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell,\u201d he replied, \u201cWhat if I do this?\u201d Then he dropped the $20 note on the ground and stomped on it with his shoes.<\/p>\n

He picked it up, and showed it to the crowd. The money was now crumpled and dirty.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow who still wants it?\u201d<\/p>\n

All the hands still went up.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy friends, I have just showed you a very important lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, life crumples us and grinds us into the dirt. We make bad decisions or deal with poor circumstances. We feel worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, your value is what it was before that thing happened to you. Circumstances make you look a bit different on the surface, but you are as valuable as ever. Don\u2019t ever forget<\/p>\n
